SteamWorld Quest Lands on Nintendo Switch Later This Year

Howdy, everyone!

The new year is the time for new things and today we’re proud to announce that our newest game, SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech, is coming first to Nintendo Switch later this year! Have you seen the trailer yet? You’ll find it below for your viewing pleasure!

So what’s SteamWorld Quest about? The game description is an excellent place to learn the basics!

SteamWorld Quest Battle

SteamWorld Quest is the roleplaying card game you’ve been waiting for! Lead a party of aspiring heroes through a beautifully hand-drawn world and intense battles using only your wits and a handful of cards. Take on whatever threat comes your way by crafting your own deck choosing from over 100 unique punch-cards!

What awaits you is a luscious treasure chest filled with gold, dragons, vivid worlds, magic, knights in shining armor as well as XP, turn-based battles and all that good RPG stuff! The game’s humorous mix of traditional fantasy and steampunk robots makes for an unforgettable experience with lots of laughs.

Deck-building

The SteamWorld community has been asking us to create an RPG for years. In fact, we’ve asked our followers directly on multiple occasions what game they would like us to make next and so far an RPG has been the number one request. So naturally, we took it upon ourselves to create a new kind of game to surprise and delight both fans of the genre as well as existing SteamWorld fans.

We will announce the game’s release date, price and future platforms at another time. For now, we’re focused on Nintendo Switch. We’re incredibly excited to share our latest and possibly greatest adventure yet and we can’t wait to hear your first impressions! We will reveal more details about Quest in the coming months, including its story, gameplay details, and so on. Feel free to ask us any questions in the comments below ?

Check out the game’s official website for more screenshots, information, artwork, and other fun stuff!

SteamWorld Dig 2 Lands on Nintendo 3DS Next Week!

Howdy, everyone!

In the last six months, Image & Form has been busier than ever. SteamWorld Dig 2 launched on multiple platforms last September and was followed by a great success (thanks for your support!). Just recently we brought both the original Dig and the ultimate edition of SteamWorld Heist to Nintendo Switch. But one platform has been missing during the entirety of that period. You could say it’s the one where things really took off for us…

**DRUMROLL**

I’m thrilled to announce that SteamWorld Dig 2 launches on the Nintendo 3DS family of systems next week on February 22! The release will be exclusive to Nintendo eShop and go for $19.99 / €19.99. It’s an ultra-portable version of our biggest adventure that’s been optimized to run at 60fps even with the stereoscopic 3D effect turned on. It runs like a charm even on the earliest iterations of the hardware.

Thanks for being patient with us during the development period. We expect great things from Nintendo 3DS in 2018 and believe the system is here to stay for the foreseeable future. I and the team hope you will enjoy SWD2 when it lands next week!

Why Wii U Is A Perfect Platform For SteamWorld Dig

The cat’s outta the bag: SteamWorld Dig is coming to Wii U. That’s right! No kidding. No need to pinch yourself. Pinky swear. We listen to each and every one of you, and the number one request we’ve gotten by far is to let you next-gen Nintendo console gamers get some of our dirt-diggin’ steampunk cowbot action adventure game. Frankly, we’ve always wanted to. And now that we’re Wii U developers (maybe you saw our teaser last week?) we can finally make it happen!

We think Wii U is perfect for SteamWorld Dig for two reasons:

  1. You guys have asked for it.
  2. We’re massive Nintendo fans.

We’re aiming for a fall 2014 release and are overjoyed by the fact that we’ll soon have our very first release on a Nintendo home console! It may relate to the fact that most of us at Image & Form have been major Nintendo fans since childhood. And judging from all the Nintendo stuff around our office you’d think we’re at the Nintendo HQ in Kyoto!

Wii U is a powerhouse, which is extremely cool. The Wii U GamePad and Miiverse are fun to explore but we’ve yet to decide on how we’ll utilize them. Anyway we’re certain that SteamWorld Dig is perfect for Wii U. We’ll share more details with you, such as release date, price and other cool stuff, in the coming months.

Please, be excited!

We showed you ours, now it’s time for you to show us your Nintendo stuff! Games, toys, figurines, magazines, consoles… anything! Why not snap a pic and share it with us in the comments? 😀
